I think Haggridd meant his fate at the end of GoF, not his fate over 
the previous 12-odd years.  No one in V's camp knows he's been found 
out by Dumbledore, forced to tell the story, and Kissed--unless 
there's a spy at Hogwarts. (cue ominous music)
