My thought was that Sirius attacked the Fat Lady out
of sheer frustration. He's been locked up in Azkaban
for twelve years, which is far from a happy place, and
was basically hanging onto his sanity by the skin of
his teeth. His *one* thought is to GET PETER - out of
revenge and out of concern for his godson. He knows
if he can just get into the common room he can take
care of Peter once and for all, without any real
problem (everyone would just assume the cat ate
Scabbers). The only thing standing in his way is the
Fat Lady, who won't let him in. I'd slash her too!
