That, to my mind, is the best reason why the theory is not likely to 
be true (although, I too think it's very clever). Voldy was 
all-but-destroyed and what happened was that the *Dark Mark* faded - 
not the Death Eaters themselves. It would seem that the connection 
is between Voldy and the mark, not Voldy and the bearers of the mark. 
(OTOH, it's not conclusive. You might argue that only Voldy's 
complete death will affect the bearers of the mark.)
Another argument against the theory: I don't think that Voldy, with 
his quest of immortality, would plan for the event of his death. To 
me, his obsessiveness with immortality implies a huge fear of death, 
which would prevent him from even contemplating the possiblity of his 
death (the way some people don't make wills).
