Yep. I haven't heard the audiobooks yet, either. Mostly, I admit,
because I hate Jim Dale, can't afford Stephen Fry, and don't have a
working cassette player in the car anyway, but I do consider them an
interpretation.

However, they're an interpretation of the existing words of JKR, not
brand-new works *based* on her characters. A version, not a new
creation. Like the movie will be a version.
