Tentative solution to Marauder's Map problem

I thought of this potential solution as well, but there is a scene 
when Harry is coming back from Hogsmeade and checks the map to see 
where Snape is, and he is "in his office" or something like that and I 
don't think it implied he was moving.  But, I don't have the book with 
me at the moment and can't check -- anyone?
