It's possible that Hermione's use of the word "everything" was a
little sweeping. Perhaps an item that didn't have to be recharged or
plugged in wouldn't work because there's no electricity in the castle
but a wind-up or battery watch and a hand-held camera would be fine.
We won't know for sure unless someone tries to use a cell phone.
