Welcome, Narri!  And what a nice first post too, to be defending my 
very favorite character.  I have to add my support here.

Harry is most definitely special.  I'm not saying he's really Superman 
Harry, but he is special.  He doesn't *want* to be special, but he's a 
talented flyer, speaks Parseltongue, has two quite powerful parents, 
and is the only known survivor of the Avada Kedavra curse (I also 
think he's a Seer, but it's not in canon).  I don't know about anyone 
else, but I'm impressed.  I'm even impressed he came away from the 
Dursleys as good a kid as he is.
