Well green is the traditional colour of nature. 
Mmmm...musing...perhaps magic is very much connected to nature. I 
mean look at how many subjects are too do with nature, Herbology, 
Care of Magical Creatures, Astronomy, Potions to some effects...

An intresting idea. The fact that Lily and Harry both have green eyes 
is made into quite a big deal. And then there is the most obvious use 
of green in Harry's life. The green flash of the Avada Kedavra curse. 
I wonder is it always green or just when aimed at one of the 
Potter's? I can't rememeber and I haven't a copy of GoF around.
