May I disagree in a few points:
1)Lucius Malfoy tortures because he likes torturing, not to do old
Voldie a favour.
2)Of course he will stay careful and masked, but I doubt Voldemort
is very keen on having good connections with the MoM.

<Snape/DADA: I think, and this is just my personal theory, Dumbledore

Hmm, I don't know. First thing, I'm not sure that Snape enjoys
teaching-I'd rather say he hates it. Teaching potions is particularly
odious for him, as it is „his" very own discipline, where he can
stand imperfection and clumsiness even less.
Furthermore, _if_ there is really a cover that shouldn't be blown
(and some posts on this subject have convinced me that there isn't),
DADA would be the last thing he should teach: A Death Eater shouldn't
teach defense against Death Eaters- potions is much more low profile.
OTOH, that could be exactly the reason why he might want the job:
Before Mad- Eye Moody, he would have been the one with the
experience, who'd know exactly _what_ to teach his students: Not
Cornish Pixies or Grindylows, but fighting curses etc. Which, if he
did it well, would blow his cover- see above.

Susanna (thankful she could write a post about her much- loved Potions
Master whose hair she would most willingly give a wash)
