For me, the scene that always gets me is the Leaving Feast in GOF,
when Dumbledore speaks of Cedric:
...Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come
when you have to make a choice beetween what is
right and what is easy, remember what happened to a
boy who was good, and kind and brave, because
he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort.
Remember Cedric Diggory.
That speech really brings home the senselessness and randomness and
terrible waste of Cedric's murder. I tear up even typing this...
