I don't know of a sorcerer/witch/wizard/warlock/what-have-you named 
Hedwig, though I have a literary reference (albeit of dubious 
relevance). In Henrik Ibsens' play "The Wild Duck," Hedwig is a young 
girl whose closest companion is an injured wild duck. (See my mind at 
work? Bird. Hedwig. Bird. Hedwig. Ahah!) Speaking of which, I'm going 
to see "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" tonight, so if there is anything 
that can be remotely tied to this question, I'll let y'all know in a 
future post.
