I've tried to articulate this before; it's hard when I have trouble with
it sometimes. But if her first prediction had something to do with the
Potter child being V's ultimate downfall, then we would not yet know
that it was a true prediction. He hasn't done it yet.

It is identified as a true prediction by Dumbledore, so it must have
come to pass. It can't be anything that hasn't happened yet. Perhaps,
like other prophecies, it was sufficiently vaguely worded that it said
the Potter child would defeat him, or something, which he *did,* but it
gets confusing. See?
