While we are at it, did Dumbledore have to put Fluffy to sleep, 
capture the key, and play a chess game before getting into the inner 
chamber to rescue Harry?  I doubt it, yet if he could take a short-
cut, how come another wizard couldn't?

P.S.: As to the trap door, Quirrel could have been on a broom.  He 
could have hovered and closed the door behind him.  He left his harp 
behind him.  M
