Hey...

I have missed a few messages here and there, so if this has already 
been brought up, I apologize.

This is from the Comic Relief chat:

Sheila McCleary - Have any of the Hogwarts professors had spouses? 
JKR - Good question - yes, a few of them but that information is sort 
of restricted - you'll find out why. 


We can draw from that not only that some are married (and if we can 
determine who wasn't at dinner in PA, we may be able to guess who 
went home to families...), but also that there is some sort of 
mystery surrounding that fact. The only thing I can think of off the 
top of my head is that it's some sort of legacy of the Voldemort era, 
when the families of Hogwarts staff would be vulnerable and probably 
singled out for attack. Can anyone think of a more likely reason?
