In response to q.8, fireplaces in Hogwarts probably can be connected 
to the floo network as Sirius transported his head (GoF) to talk with 
Harry pre-first task. In response to q.9 Yes some wizards/witches can 
make themselves invisable when flying on brooms by a) using an 
invisability cloak (Harry mentions doing it in PoA before getting on 
the Knight Bus) or by b) making themselvs invisable (as Dumbledore 
does in The Mirror of Erised, PS/SS "I do not need a cloak to make me 
invisable" - or something to that effect - from memory.
