Devika, I think you are onto something there. But then again, Filch
wouldn't have confiscated the map unless Snape ratted on Sirius.
Also, if Snape were going to tell what happened, I'd think he would
go to his head of house or Dumbledore, not Filch. So I'm thinking
the map probably got confiscated in the same way Lupin and Moody took
it from Harry: a teacher told the Marauders essentially "Give it to
me."
