Cindy, thanks for reviving this, because I have a question about it.  
Amanda, I don't get why this exchange between Lupin and Harry tells us 
these two things about what Snape knows.  It tells us the first, but 
not the second.  It might be that Snape knows that Lupin was one of 
the mapmakers and Lupin knows he knows it, but neither he nor Lupin 
wants to reveal that fact or that knowledge to Harry.  So Lupin isn't 
likely to answer Harry's question with "Because two of them were me 
and your dad and Snape imagines one of us gave it to you."
