Hagrid as a teacher

I think this is an interesting question.  Given the nature of this 
position and the fact that Hagrid was effectively expelled (even if I 
was for bogus and trumped-up charges) therefore prohibiting him from 
using magic, isn't it dangerous to give a class of magical creatures 
to someone who is not autorized to intervene magically if things get 
out of control?  Do you suppose at sometime after Hargrid's expulsion 
from Hogwarts that Dumbledore took it upon himself to finish Hagrids 
training personallyk albeit in secret and "unofficially"?
