Yes, clear, but unfortunately incorrect. Several of the professors
have mentioned that James was one of the most brilliant wizards of
his time, and Sirius as well (Dumbledore does at one point, and
McGonagall/Flit do during the "Butterbeer scene" in PA.) The absence
of any such credit being given to Remus isn't necessarily damning,
but it is somewhat telling.
