Peeves, The House Elf?

Ok I know this has been done to death but ever since it was mentioned I've been thinking about it...in the book SS US priting. Chapter 7, the Sorting hat the picture of Peeves looks like a house elf! It just struck me while I was flipping through the books! Maybe Peeves being a Poltergeist is the essence of a whole bunch of bitter house elves! I mean it could happen!
