It is important to examine what the text REALLY says. He says "for
the third time on his life, the sensation that his mind had been wiped
of all thought" (GOF 661), NOT specifically the Imperius Curse. Go
back to the Quidditch Cup when the veela first enter and check out the
description of Harry's state-of-mind: "The veela had started to dance,
and Harry's mind had gone completely and blissfully blank" (GOF 103).
 Isn't it remarkably similar? My personal interpretation of this
statement has always been that this is the third time Harry has felt
his mind be so empty--the FIRST being when the veela danced
("completely and blissfully blank"); the second when Crouch!Moody
places the Imperius Curse on Harry in class ("Harry felt a floating
sensation as every thought and worry in his head was wiped gently
away, leaving nothing but a vague, untraceable happiness." (GOF 231));
and the third being when Moldy-Voldy tries to force him to answer.

Granted, this has always been my theory, and, of course, it up to
interpretation.
