I should temper my comments a little. I know that I have a strong 
bias toward NOT assuming anything, since that's the angle I use in 
the Lexicon. I look for what might be termed the "literal truth." I 
have no problem with folks finding all sorts of connections and 
allusions, as long as they don't try to convince me that the author 
meant it that way intentionally all along, which in this case 
anyway, it's likely that she did not.
