Well, honestly I don't think Hermione IS interested in Ron. Being mad 
at Ron because he asked her as a "last resort" doesn't necessarily 
mean she likes him. It could just as easily mean that she simply 
found it insulting that he came to her after the girl he really 
wanted to go with rejected him. And I'm pretty sure Hermione knows 
that Ron likes her. If she returned his interest, she'd have done 
something about it.
