  Heather, solution (b) still wouldn't solve the problem, because as 
we've seen, ghosts can still play a large role in the HP series. Who 
knows, perhaps they can even date! We know they can attend parties... 
(Nearly Headless Nick) perhaps even balls. So not only would we have 
shippers debating about who Hermione's ghost is keen on, but whether 
or not it's possible for her to date, marry, etc. in ghostly form.
