Please consider that the room with magical properties might be only
mentioned in GoF( so far). Harry has been in Dumbledore's office before- in
CoS I believe.I was thinking more along the lines of a room we know very
little about.( Of course we know little of Dumbledores office to; hence the
saying " The more you know, the less you know.") The room I was thinking of
was the room mentioned on pg.240 in GoF. ( UK version)

" Harry went through the door out of the Great Hall, and found
himself in a smaller room, lined with paintings of witches and wizards.A
handsome fire was roaring in the fireplace opposite him."

We know very little of this room and when I read JKR's statement
this room sprang to mind. We can guess that this room is used for official
ceremonies, as the Triwizard Tournament's drawing of the champions is
certaintly worthy of one.Whether this room is used solely for such a purpose
we do not know. I'm sure that Dumbledore would have to hold many meetings
and conferences with many *important* witches and wizards. Would he use his
own private office for these official meetings? Or rather, would he have a
room solely for that purpose? This room could have some sort of charm on it
that stops eavesdroppers.Or perhaps a-keeping-secrets charm?I agree with you
that Dumby's room has magical properties, but it seems a bit too obvious.
Does anyone have any input on this?
     Andrea
