What I think we'll see in the next books and my wishful thinking

Now, as we all know, J.K. Rowling is getting the 5th book in the 
Harry Potter series ready to release at some point next year, plus she 
has two more books in the 7 book series.

Some of the things I believe we'll see in the books and some of my 
wishful thinking:

Lupin will return.  I believe J.K. has already confirmed this, but he 
was an awesome Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and while I 
don't see him returning to that position, he will definitely help in 
the fight against Voldemort.

More Sirus.  While Book 3 was a big Sirus book where you learn most 
of the background on Harry's godfather, I'd love to see more 
involvement for him in the future books.  He turns up a few times in 
Goblet of Fire but never for a really long stretch.

More background on Snape.  What we already know about Snape is that 
he was at Hogwarts at the same time as Sirus, Lupin, Wormtail, and 
James & Lily Potter and that he hates them all for the trick they 
pulled on him and seems like James Potter's version of Draco Malfoy.  
We also know that Snape was a Deatheater and has the dark mark on him 
yet when Voldemort called for his forces to return in Goblet, Snape 
didn't go with them and stayed at Hogwarts and Dumbledore.

My thinking is that Dumbledore is going to send Snape undercover in 
Voldemort's camp to spy on their activities and report back to 
Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic, much like Voldemort had spies, 
one of his former servants will be used against him.

I do believe we will see some sort of romance between Ron and 
Hermione.  It was sort of hinted at in Goblet that Ron was quite 
jealous at Krum for going to the dance with Hermione and I believe we 
could see some sparks happening between these two in future books.

Now, some of my wishful thinking:

Harry becomes captain of the Quidditch team.  We never find out who 
is the new captain during Goblet as the Quidditch Cup was canceled 
due to the TriWizard Tournament.  We know Wood has graduated from 
Hogwarts so he's not there anymore but wouldn't it be cool if Harry 
got the chance?

Ron joins the Gryffindor Quidditch team.  I would love to see Ron get 
a chance to try out his broomstick skills on the field along side 
Fred and George.  Maybe as the new Keeper...

Hermione as a prefect and or head girl.  This will probably happen as 
she is always the top student and love to follow the rules all though 
she has mellowed out a lot since Book 1.

Neville getting more courage and letting Malfoy have it.  Poor Neville 
always gets the worse of things in the book.  I'd love for him to 
develop more courage and finally stand up to Malfoy and knock him one.

Neville's parents get better.  We know that Neville's parents are alive 
but are insane thanks to Voldemort.  I would really like to see 
Neville's parents brought back to themselves and have a happy 
Longbottom reunion.  I think that event would give Neville the much 
needed courage and self-esteem boost.

Dumbledore in a wizard's duel.  We've all heard about how Dumbledore 
is the greatest wizard there is, so why not let him flex a few of 
those magical muscles.  :)

More involvement of the two eldest Weasley sons.  We finally got to 
see Bill and Charlie in Goblet but they seem like two interesting 
guys and I would love to see more development for them.

A Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher that lasts more than one 
term.  LOL

A real good look at the REAL Mad-Eye Moody (but I believe we will 
actually see this).

A return by Lockhart.  I'd love to see how he fairs now after trying 
to get his memory back.  Will he return to the pompous wizard that he 
was or will he try to be a better wizard?
