Vernon has shown a complete lack of interest in magical stuff -- he never
even wonders how Harry gets to Hogwarts, after abandoning him at Platforms
9 and 10. Vernon certainly doesn't even suspect that wizards have their own
currency system, nor their own shoping district, complete with bank, hidden
within London. In a fundamentalist sort of way, he believes that the less he
knows and questions, the less he has to fear.
