I just want to say that I thought you had some
plausible points, good job. :)

<<1. Remembering how Black recognized Pettigrew in
the Daily Prophet; wouldn't a rat with a prosthetic,
silver or not, be a sort of give-away? If he runs
away, does he scamper, scamper,
click?--Whirdy at aol.com>>
LOL, funny stuff my friend. :) Although I imagine that
the silver is quite heavy...scamper, scamper,
thud-clang?
Just a thought, but what if Peter can't go to his
animagus form anymore? I don't know how the silver arm
would prevent it (while it would look rather strange)
but what if not being able to use his animagus form is
an unexpected repercussion of his loyalty to
Voldemort? Or maybe he felt like he wouldn't need to
use his animagus form anymore because Voldemort was,
as Sirius put him, "the biggest bully on the
playground" and wouldn't need to hide as a rat?

<<I am very interested in the idea of Ron as a seventh
son. From what I know, 7th sons of 7th sons are
supposed to be seers, healers, and/or lucky.>>
Seventh sons of seventh sons are known to be healers,
seers, and incredibly powerful. I have entertained the
idea of Ron being 7s~7s, but didn't find it quite
likely, has the series every mentioned (and if it has
it could be very likely I skipped it in my eagerness
to come to the end of the book ;) Arthur Weasley being
a 7th son?
<<It seems like a fair possibility for Ron, given the
strange gap in Weasley births between Charlie and
Percy>>
Agreed, there is a big age difference between Charlie
and Percy, more than in the rest of the Weasley
family. It also seems to me that the Weasley children
have "pairs" (say, one sibling they feel is a close
friend). Bill and Charlie, Fred and George, Ron and
Ginny, but where does that leave Percy? Considering
the age difference mentioned, and pairless Percy, this
may be an explanation of why he is different from the
other Weasleys in personality (from the little we have
seen of Bill and Charlie I gather that they are like
the four younger ones--fairly laid back).
Another possibility of Percy's different disposition,
maybe an absense of Mr. Weasley's during his early
years due to VW1. If you have noticed, he looks to his
mother for approval and praise. Just an idea that I've
tossed around...

<<I suspect that he's one of those poor,
crabby, old geezers who hate to be bothered and who can
pull a fast one on you if he can>>
Wasn't there a mention of Mundungus Fletcher trying to
curse Arthur Weasley behind his back or something of
the sort? :)
