Hey everyone! This is my first post here, thought you should know
that. I'll admit I'm not exactly an "adult", but I read well and
sometimes I catch things other people don't. This is one view that I'm
pretty sure is unusual...
The Ford Anglia has been a point of interest for me. This car flies,
turns invisible, stretches to accommodate the luggage for five
Hogwarts students, and who knows what else Arthur Weasley installed...
But Mr. Weasley made one acccomplishment while working with this car
that even surpasses keeping it hidden from the Ministry of Magic this
long. The car appears to be an intelligent being. It wanders away from
Ron and Harry. Now, in a world of transfiguration, this may not seem
like such a great feat. But when this car saves Harry and Ron from
Aragog and his countless relatives, I began to think of the
possibilities. It's obviously loyal, and there isn't much the Death
Eaters can do to it (which leads me to wonder whether the Unforgivable
Curses work on cars).
There is a big difference between making a car that runs around on its
own and transfiguring it into an animal, and that is that most animals
don't run over you at sixty miles per hour. Imagine a force of dozens
of sentient cars, driving into battle against Voldemort and his Death
Eaters, with Aurors at the wheel. Maybe it's time for an amendment to
the laws about bewitching Muggle items... Mr. Weasley, go get more
Ford Anglias!
