Horklumps vs. Mandrakes

Oh sheesh, look at me posting 2 times so quickly!  It must be the 
Christmas spirit.  :)

Anyhow, here I am, about to go off again on the unjust threatment of 
the stewed Mandrakes.  (Perhaps I should get some sort of title for 
my Mandrake crusade?)  Anyhow, people noted that perhaps they were 
not intelligent or whatnot and so it was not too big of a deal that 
they got stewed.

But in FBAWTFT JK has a section dedicated to the really really boring 
Horklumps.  These things, other than spreading really quite fast, are 
the same as Muggle mushrooms or toadstools.  So why do they 
get "beast" status when the bawling, partying, moody Mandrakes get 
the shaft and get sliced, diced, boiled and drunk?  (Well, maybe they 
are more useful that way than they Horklumps would be.)  Still, I 
think it is time to stand up for Mandrake injustice everywhere!!  
Mandrakes of the world, unite!!  ;)
