That's it exactly.  Snape had not brought the Wolfbane to Lupin yet....I 
guess Snape has to bring it to him or, at least, on that occasion.  At other 
times, Lupin may have a supply.  I think that Lupin may have just forgot that 
he hadn't taken his potion.  Snape, thinking that there was still time to 
give it to him, was doing just that when he made his discovery.

I'm starting to feel confused.....no more speculating.
