I do follow you thinking on this, but examine the line
"By that time, my faithful servant will have re-joined
us." I assume that is referring to Crouch, Jr. who is
going to be playing the part of Moody. At that point
in time, only two people are directly working with L.V.
that is Wormtail and Crouch as Moody. Crouch won't
return until the job is done. Then he will dispose of
Moody and join L.V. Plus L.V. tells Wormtail, he
won't have to do it alone, meaning that Crouch will
be there to help him finish off Moody. Plus, " ...
our path to Harry Potter is clear. ..." which I take
in this context to imply that WHEN they have reach
their goal and have Potter, Wormtail and Crouch, Jr.
can kill Moody.
Still all speculation unless Rowlings comes right out
and clarifies it.
