Okay, I admit, I would love to see more than the seven
Harry Potter books, but I have a little story I want
to tell you guys:

I'm sure most of the listers are familiar with 'The
Wizard of Oz' by L. Frank Baum. However, I'm not sure
how many people know that L. Frank Baum (LFB)
continued to write stories about Oz. The first is
better known because of the movie with Judy Garland.
Anyway, at one point, LFB deliberately set it up so
that the series was over, there weren't any more
stories. LFB tried to write another series, but it
wasn't as popular as the Oz series and enough fans
wrote to ask for more stories that LFB managed to come
up with a way around the ending of the last book and
continued to write Oz books.

Okay, the moral of the story (there's a moral?) is
that sometimes you can't avoid continuing something. I
realize there are differences between Oz and the
Potterverse (the fact that each HP book takes place
during a year at Hogwarts), but maybe JKR knows what
happened to LFB and decide to write a couple more
books after a break from the Potterverse (I prolly
would *g*).

Heck, look at Tolkein. He never really stopped writing
about Middle Earth, did he? I was at the store a week
or so ago and there were quite a few of his other
books out and every single one of them dealt with
Middle Earth in some way or another.

Anyway, I think I've ranted on long enough.

Jestana.
