Viewing the documentary in widescreen, and having the benefit of seeing
the extra bit at the right of the screen that otherwise gets cut off,
it's just about possible to see that the opposite page actually contains
the M-Z children in Harry's year and not any extra information on the
allegiances of their parents.

Which means that the symbols that we haven't figured out yet in the
second column are what Rowling meant when she said that she'd listed how
powerful they were and/or what their parents allegiances were. I wonder
if by *that* she might have meant whether they were pureblood or Muggle
born, or whether she was indicating whether they were naturally gifted
at magic without having to study overmuch, or whether their proficiency
comes from studying hard and practising diligently.

It's a real shame that we don't get the symbols for Harry, Ron, Draco,
or even Neville (his name is written in place alphabetically, but his
sex, magic and house details aren't there). The only one of the well
known characters whose details are shown is Hermione, which makes it
more difficult to spot trends.

But if anybody wants to try, I've taken screen captures of the list.
They're widescreen captures, which means that you can actually see a
couple more letters of most of the M-Z surnames than were visible when I
was doing my freeze framing last night. <g> You can find them at the
following link:

If your email software breaks that into multiple lines, just log into
Yahoogroups, click on the "Photos" link for the group, and then click on
the album called "Harry Potter & Me" (which was the name of the
documentary).

As an added bonus, I've also included Rowling's own illustrations of the
characters which she showed off during the documentary, as they're
rather nice.
