You can search most every JKR interview that's ever been given &
transcripted online at:
http://www.geocities.com/aberforths_goat/
I know of no interviews in which JKR has stated that she is a witch. I
know of several where she claimed she was not Wiccan, does believe in
God & attends the Church of Scotland from time to time (not all those
statements in the same interview ... but 3-4 different interviews I
believe).
The spells are "made up" (Latinized command words for the most part);
she says so explicitly in one interview. You might also check out this
group's JKR FAQ (I'm the author -- <g>) at:
http://www.i2k.com/~svderark/lexicon/faq/faq-rowling.html
For those of you who are new to the group, do check out the resources in
our FAQs:
http://www.i2k.com/~svderark/lexicon/faq/
You'll find lots of good stuff there.
