I had a similar experience with Kevin Spacey a few years ago when I was a
member of a very gung ho internet mailing list of his.  After one very
immature discussion of his private life all hell broke loose when it was
discovered that his good friend and personal assistant (who had been
implicated in the discussion) was on the list as a lurker. It turned out
rather nasty, something I think reflects on Mr. Spacey's desire then for
the kind of privacy that would allow him to make the career choices he
desired --but on a happy note, the personal assistant stuck around and
became friends with a few of the fans.

I think that says a good deal for what JKR might be up against should she
decide to lurk on any one of the HPFGU lists. Undoubtedly these types of
discussions would be easier for her to stomach than lists devoted, for
example, to HP slash-- but depending on her wish to go about her work
privately, even the intelligent criticism directed at the books here might
distract her.

My money's on one or a few assistants lurking and taking notes in case any
of us should hit too dangerously close to a major book revelation (I also
bet they're tracking some of the more popular fanfics too just in case
this happens).  Maybe a Random House Elf? :)

My answer: more character development in Draco Malfoy, and the return of
MWPP.
