Sorry to bring this back up after so long, but I was just having an
argument with a friend about this and it came up. So I looked up the
passage (PoA, p. 137, US Edition) and I found a slight problem. The
passage reads (starting with Seamus):

"Riddikulus!" shouted Seamus.
The banshee made a rasping noise and clutched her throat; her voice
was gone.
Crack! The banshee turned into a rat, which chased its tail in a
circle, then - crack! - became a rattlesnake, which slithered and
writhed before - crack! - becoming a single, bloody eyeball.
"It's confused!" shouted Lupin. "We're getting there! Dean!"
Dean hurried forward...

Now, the way I interpreted this scene, based on Lupin's response, is
that it was confused on its own. It wasn't being made turn into a
rat/snake/eyeball, it turned into them on its own, as it was confused.
Then Dean was called forward to add to its confusion. So I don't think
that any of those three unidentified people really did much of
anything besides watch. I believe the only 6 people actually addressed
the boggart (Neville, Parvati, Seamus, Dean, Ron, Lupin, Neville).
