I remember noticed that too. However, I doubt Rowling would make a reference 
to the tv show "Welcome back, Mr. Kotter."  Maybe I am just a stupid 
American, but I doubt that show was popular enough to be aired in England.  
Its not even on syndacation here(Texas), even on Nick-at-Night.
