Harry's resilience (was SHIPS: Harry/Hermione/Ron)

This may be wishful thinking on my part--I've been known to indulge 
in it--but I see Harry as being a lot more resilient than that.  He 
has already come through a really rotten childhood with his sense of 
self intact, and it's improving.  (He's pretty scrappy vis-a-vis the 
Dursleys even in Book 1 Chapter 2, but gets scrappier with each 
book.)  Even after the annual attempts on his life, he seems to be 
getting more, not less, trusting, confident, resourceful, _____ (fill 
in your favorite sign of healthy emotional development).  He is wiser 
and no doubt sadder in many ways than he was 4 years ago, but not 
embittered or alienated.
