Well, I think I've been told that the UK editions don't have the little illustrations heading each chapter, but I know I've seen one of Snape with moustache and beard. I noticed
because I, too, thought he was clean-shaven. Aha! Found it. PoA, p. 269 (Am), ch. 14, Snape's Grudge.

Why do we know he's clean-shaven? Steve?

Oh, and he wears black *robes,* not a black cloak. Get that vampire imagery out of your head.
