Yes. Sherbet lemon is Brit for lemon drop. Look at the scene (in GoF, I
think) where Harry is trying to get into Dumbledore's office, and tries
"candy" passwords--he starts with "sherbet lemon" (the password had been
"lemon drop" in an earlier book), and then tries "pear drop," among
others--and I had noted before that the transition from "sherbet lemon"
to other flavors of fruit "drops" would make absolutely no sense to an
American reader. [This is the scene where "cockroach cluster" does the
trick.]
