Notice that I admit that it's thin logic. I've had a number of people 
point out to me that Hagrid was the assistant for a while first, so 
what's the big deal. I know that's possible, even probable. The point 
is that it COULD also be evidence of something else going on. The 
REALLY intriguing piece of this puzzle is the ancestor/descendent bit.
