The strength of the talons of any hunting bird is amazing; you must,
repeat must, have some sort of arm protection. A glove is the easiest
thing, so that it doesn't slip around your arm. The last thing you want
to do is make them tighten their hold to hang on. Just sitting there, if
that owl got mad, she could probably put her talons right through his
arm. Let him wear the glove.
