This is another kind of foreshadowing, too.  Just as Seamus, 
who's terrified of banshees, thinks it's a banshee, Neville hears it 
the way he does because of his personal knowledge of the Cruciatus.  I 
didn't pick up on it until my second reading, after the Pensieve.  
Great characterization on JKR's part.
