I heartily agree with you. I find that Jim Dale's accent (and silly
character accents) detracts from the books. I can barely understand his
shrill "Scottish" McGonagall, his Hagrid sounds moronic, and his Hermione is
whinier than a 'shipper who's just discovered that JKR has ruled out their
ship preferences ;)
(NB: That was a joke. It was meant to be funny. A ha-ha. Lighthearted moment
o'Amusement. Please don't take it any other way.)

Ooh, yes, an audioplay! That would be fantastic. I have a superb
BBC-produced "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" which I really enjoy
listening to. For those unfamiliar with the concept, it's different from an
audiobook in that it's fully casted -- well, Guy with Rock #3 and #4 may be
read by the same person in different accents, but you understand what I'm
getting at -- but different from the full soundtrack (not just the music) of
a movie in that there is narration.
Maybe we could all donate our voices to an audioplay at some point! Or,
alternatively, a round-robin reading, chapter-by-chapter. Heidi, would that
be legal if it was solely for our own personal use and not for distribution
across the internet?
