Amy:"I'm more a Ginny than a Cho, but I agree--it's unfair to assume
that Cho is flighty, shallow, etc. just because she's pretty and
talented and popular. She seems really nice from the little we know,
e.g. when she tells Harry she can't go to the dance with him."
I'm more Ginny that Cho also, but can't figure out where all the
anti-Cho stuff comes from. It's just an "innocent till proven guilty"
thing with me.
Amy:"Cedric falls prey to the same stereotype--almost all of the
Gryffindors dislike him. He's handsome, popular, a prefect, captain
of his Quidditch team, and worst of all, of course, beat them at
Quidditch, ergo he must be a jerk. But the fact is, the guy's a
class act--we know that from the first match, when he calls for a
rematch because of the Dementors. Etc. etc.--everything we know
about him is good (okay, he doesn't believe Harry didn't put his name
in the Goblet of Fire, but you can't blame him for that)."
Harry knows it, too. His nose was out of joint, that's all, when he
called Cedric a 'useless pretty boy' without a brain in his head. If
I was 14 I'd say the same thing about the guy who aced me out of the
date I wanted but didn't have the nerve to ask. They were friends
before the end.
