Welcome aboard, Amy!  I loved the Yule Ball & dating stuff too, in a 
cringing sort of way.  My father and I read GoF at roughly the same 
time, and one night he actually called me to ask if that section was 
as painful to read for me as it was for him, causing flashbacks of 
adolescent awkwardness and forced socialization.
