I don't know if it's just adolescent females. Adolescent males get
pretty bossy too. I think it's the stage when one suddenly realizes one
can (a) think and have original ideas and (b) put those ideas forward.
However, they're just learning the finer points of *how* to put the
ideas forward, so those who err to the side of forcefulness are "bossy."
With any luck, we all grow out of it. Or learn to fine-tune it, however
you want to phrase it.
