> for quite some time.
Not a one. I thought maybe JKR was setting up
Scabbers' death to torment Ron, possibly at the paws
of Crookshanks.

> happen?
I cheered. Snape was being completely unreasonable,
and I was so happy to see Hermione do what was right
instead of following the rules.
> 4. When did you start to believe Sirius? When you
> heard that Scabbers was
> actually an Animagus or did it take you as long as
> it took Harry?
As soon as Remus hugged him. I trusted Remus'
judgment, and knew there had to be an explanation.

> from the evil wizard he was supposed to be?
I cried.
> 6. Why do you think has Sirius waited so long before
> he escaped from
> Azkaban?
> After all, he could have gotten away years ago,
> since it couldn't have taken
> him
> twelve years to get thin enough to pass through the
> bars?
I think Sirius believed he deserved to be punished.
In his mind, he was responsible for what happened to
James and Lily, even if not in the way everyone
thought. It was only when he found out Pettigrew had
gotten off scot free *and* was in a position to hurt
Harry that he had reason to escape.
> 8. We know Lupin as a very kind and calm person. Why
> do you think was he
> almost
> as eager to kill Pettigrew as Sirius was?
Kind? Calm? No, I would say "restrained". As
somebody else mentioned, he turns into a mindless
beast once a month. He keeps a tight grip on his
emotions the rest of the month, I imagine. Just look
at his regret when he talks about the accidents that
could've happened when he and the Marauders were
roaming in animal form back in the day. But
now...well, he finds that one of his closest friends
betrayed and murdered one friend and his wife, and
condemned the other to 12 years in Azkaban. Icy fury
is certainly understandable.
> 9. Now that you know what happened at the end of
> Book 4, do you think that
> Harry
> would have been better off if he would have let
> Lupin and Black kill
> Pettigrew?
No. Harry's not a murderer, and neither are Remus and
Sirius. He kept them from making a terrible mistake.
There are still 3 books to go, and I think having
Pettigrew in Harry's debt will be a major plus.
> 10. Did you feel any kind of sympathy for Pettigrew?
No. Not in any way whatsoever. He betrayed his
friends, the people who trusted him. Don't forget
that not only did he arrange for James and Lily to die
and their son be left an orphan, he framed Sirius for
the whole thing. That was after Voldemort was gone,
as well, so he couldn't claim protection from the
"biggest bully on the playground". He was a sniveling
little coward and deserves whatever he gets in the
coming books.
> 11. When Sirius offers Harry to live with him, Harry
> immediately says yes.
> Now,
> we know that there aren't many adults Harry trusts.
> Why do you think does he
> trust Sirius to the point of going to live with him,
> even though he has
> known
> him only for about an hour or so?
I almost cried again here, and *did* cry when I
realized Harry wouldn't be able to go with Sirius
after all. I think a large part of Harry's eagerness
was the "anything is better than the Dursleys"
feeling. But in addition, going to live with his
father's best friend was the closest Harry could get
to being with his parents again.
> 12. Did you think that Harry really saw his father,
> or the ghost of his
> father
> across the lake, or did you think someone else must
> have cast the Patronus?
At the time, I thought Harry was starting hallucinate
as he was passing out. He always *heard* his parents
when the Dementors were near - why not *see* one now
as well?
> 13. Do you think it was an accident that this
> Dementor tried to administer
> the
> Kiss to Harry, or do you think the Dementors aren't
> as loyal to Fudge as he
> would like them to be?
Bah. The Dementors are loyal to themselves. They
want to feed, and Harry has proven to be a delicious
meal in the past.
