3. What did you think when Harry, Ron and Hermione
disarmed Snape? Do you think they did the right thing
or should they have waited for something actually to
happen?
This thing is that Snape doesnt really have a very good history of getting
it right, does he? He has totally destroyed his credibility with H/R/H by
his heavy handed, unfair treatment over the years, he always jumps to the
worst conclusion where Harry is concerned...why would they suddenly give him
the benefit of the doubt on this issue?
I have to confess that when Snape went down, I said 'Yessss!' and woke up my
husband, who was not happy! I'm a bit stunned to learn that Snape actually
has fans...
6. Why do you think has Sirius waited so long before
he escaped from Azkaban? After all, he could have
gotten away years ago, since it couldn't have taken him
twelve years to get thin enough to pass through the
bars?
The answer is in the chapter. He states that he had been transforming into
the dog for years, but that he was weak...then when he saw the picture of
Peter on Ron's shoulder, he says,
"It was as if someone lit a fire in my head, and the Dementors couldnt
destroy it...it wasnt a happy feeling...it was an obsession...but it gave me
strength, it cleared my mind."
This was the event that gave him the rive and impetus to act...also, because
this urge was like an obsession and wasnt happy, it acted like a screen
between him and the dementors, so they couldnt feel him.
8. We know Lupin as a very kind and calm person. Why do
you think was he almost as eager to kill Pettigrew as
Sirius was?
Even the calmest person has that one thing that triggers them off... I'd say
that this was his 'button' and Peter had pushed it.
13. Do you think it was an accident that this Dementor
tried to administer the Kiss to Harry, or do you think
the Dementors aren't as loyal to Fudge as he would
like them to be?
Perhaps they sensed that Harry had been with Sirius and allowed him to
escape, a sort of transfer of guilt? They wouldnt care why, but if they knew
that Harry had let Sirius escape, they would have branded him guilty too. It
could also be that Harry was carrying a lot of joy at discovering that he
had a loyal family member at last in his godfather Sirius, and they latched
onto this.
